specialist  Courses

BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSE

These courses are for intermediate and advanced students. They are based around a core textbook and aim to develop communication skills, ability to understand and write business reports, and analyse business issues and systems.

ACADEMIC YEAR

This course helps students to achieve fluency in English, and at the same time study areas of interest to the students themselves. Each student follows the 20 hour Standard English Course.

There are also two afternoon sessions per week (6 hours):

On Tuesday the focus is on the development of study skills. On Wednesday and Friday the students study specific areas of interest, including: History of Britain, English Literature, Media Studies and Social Studies.

The specialised afternoon sessions can only be undertaken when a student attains upper intermediate level and above, so students below this level will receive extra language tuition at the same times, until they reach the appropriate level.

TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON TESOL CERTIFICATE

The Trinity College Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certificate allows anyone with good English skills to train as an English teacher and find employment around the world. Four-week courses run all year and start dates are available on request.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS

Students can also take advantage of one-to-one lessons, which can be taken throughout the day. Students can request work on a specific aspect of English or ask for the teacher to identify areas of weakness in their English ability and assign work accordingly.

FURTHER EDUCATION

The ISIS Language Centres are linked to several UK universities and colleges, including Oxford Brookes University, Oxford and Cherwell College, University of Greenwich and University of Sussex.

This means that students can be streamed from an ISIS Language Centre to a foundation course, a vocational course, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course, or an MBA.

The vocational courses available include nursing, art and design, business, accountancy, catering, engineering, beauty therapy, IT, performing arts, sport, and tourism.

Undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses are offered in a wide range of subject areas, including The Arts, Humanities and Languages; Biological and Environmental Sciences; Social Sciences and Law; Engineering, Computing and Mathematics; Business and Hospitality Management.

‘A’ level courses are also available at Oxford and Cherwell College for students who have completed their studies at an ISIS Language Centre.

In most cases, the entire course of study can be mapped out and booked before the student leaves their home country.
