The school is
situated in two buildings just moments from each other in the heart of
the town centre, near shops, bars, clubs and restaurants.
Classes: Lessons take place in modern
classrooms in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where our focus is on
student participation. Classrooms have a maximum of 16 students.
Computers: We have two fully-equipped computer
rooms with free internet access at any time during the school day, and
a station for students with their own laptop. The computers have a wide
range of software programs which support many languages.
Resources: Students have access to a study
area with useful English language resources. CDs, cassettes and books
can be borrowed from reception or the staff room on request and used at
your leisure within the school.

General English
- These courses are designed to
improve the competency of students’ English at progressive levels
by developing the skills of reading, writing, listening and
speaking, grammatical accuracy, vocabulary and pronunciation.
- Teachers use the latest
course books and promote an enjoyable and rewarding learning
experience.
- Students are taught to
develop the technique of self-study so learning can continue
outside the classroom
From beginner to proficiency level this
programme encourages students to communicate confidently in an English
speaking environment.
Business English
- A twelve-week course designed
to focus on the essential skills required for communication in an English
working environment, with an option to register for the Cambridge
Business Examinations at Vantage or Higher level. (Students are
required to have a minimum of upper intermediate level English.)
- Students are encouraged to
actively participate in classes with individual feedback from your
tutor to ensure that personal aims are achieved.
- Skills and practice include:
company structure, presentations of products and ideas, formal
correspondence, negotiation, marketing, customer service and
public relations.
An excellent foundation for students wishing
to continue to university or for those studying English to further
their career.
Cambridge Examination Preparation
- These courses are for
students who can use everyday written and spoken English at a minimum
of upper intermediate level and require recognised proof of their
English ability.
- Courses focus on improving
accuracy in reading, writing, listening and speaking, together
with vocabulary building, pronunciation and important examination
techniques and practice.
- Examinations are set by the
University of Cambridge and certificates do not expire. Choices
are as follows: First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in
Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency English
(CPE).
Ideal for those needing English for work or
study purposes around the world.
University Access Course – IELTS.
- This course is a combination
of either General English plus IELTS preparation or Business
English plus IELTS preparation.
- IELTS is the International
English Language Testing system and assesses your academic level
of English. We recommend this course for upper intermediate level
or higher.
- IELTS is recognised all over
the world and provides an excellent foundation for students
wishing to continue to colleges or university or apply to business
organisations.
Perfect for students who intend to work or
study where English is the language of communication.
Conversation
- An hour per day giving you
the opportunity to improve and practise your speaking skills. Your
teacher will encourage the use of commonly used formal and
informal language to give you further confidence to use it outside
the language classroom.
- A variety of interesting
topics and texts are given to encourage discussion. Functional language
used in everyday situations will be covered, in addition to the
study of areas such as idioms, phrasal verbs and presentation
techniques.
A friendly and fun chance to meet others from
all over the world and to share your ideas.
Course Details
- All students are given a
placement test at the start of their course to determine their
level of English. During courses students are monitored and can
discuss their progress in one-to-one tutorials with their
teachers.
- At the end of each level
students are tested and given a certificate of achievement,
subject to progress and attendance.
- Any of the above courses may
be combined.
- Courses can be taken from 4
weeks to 45 weeks at progressive levels. There is a minimum of 2
weeks enrolment from June to August.
- The minimum age for enrolment
on all courses is 16.

ACCOMMODATION
The approximate cost per week of homestay
accommodation depends on the season and the location. High season is
between June and September.
Accommodation is subject to a £25
arrangement fee.

Students are accommodated in homestay
accommodation which includes breakfast and evening meal. Homestays have
all been inspected by the school to ensure they provide a safe, clean
and comfortable environment to relax and study. Homestays are located
in and around Bournemouth and many are within 15 – 20 minutes walk from
the town centre.
